Child Therapy.

A space where kids and teens can be understood, not just managed, at whatever age and stage they're in.

What is it

What is child therapy?

Kids and teenagers aren't just small adults, and therapy with them shouldn't look exactly like adult therapy. When you're searching for a child therapist near me, you're really looking for someone who can meet your child where they are: getting to know them as an individual, understanding what's going on in their life, and figuring out what's already working and what isn't.

Depending on their age and needs, sessions might involve talking, playing, drawing, creating, practicing new skills, or working through hard experiences. Sometimes a child can tell us exactly what's wrong. Other times, they show us through their behavior, play, or relationships, and our job is to pay attention and help make sense of it. We also work closely with parents and caregivers, balancing their involvement with the age-appropriate privacy kids need to build trust.

What we help with

What brings kids and teens in

Tap any of these to learn a little more about what it can look like.

Anxiety & depression

Worry, low mood, or a shift in how your child seems to be showing up in their own life.

Behavioral changes

New or intensifying behaviors that feel hard to understand or manage at home or school.

Family changes & divorce

Parental separation, blended families, or other shifts that unsettle a kid's sense of stability.

School & peer struggles

School changes, peer conflict, fitting in, or the everyday pressure of growing up.

Identity & body image

Puberty, identity development, dating, and the questions that come with growing into yourself.

ADHD & homework struggles

Trouble with focus, chores, or homework that turns into a fight more often than not.

Attachment & caregiving changes

Including kids being raised by grandparents, or navigating other disruptions to attachment.

We take Medicaid, always.

Most insurance is welcome here, aside from Medicare and Tricare. New clinicians carry Medicaid caseloads; our fully licensed team takes the rest. Two pro-bono intern slots are open too.
Why it helps

What child therapy can do

Our goal isn't to fix your child or make them easier to manage. It's to help them feel understood.

1

A space built for their age

Talking, playing, drawing, or creating, whatever fits how your child actually communicates.

2

Skills that build over time

Emotional regulation, coping tools, and healthier ways of relating to others.

3

Support for the whole family

We work with parents and caregivers too, so what happens in session carries over at home.

4

Age-appropriate privacy and trust

A space where your child can be honest, balanced with the involvement caregivers need.

Common questions

Before you start

What age range do you work with?

We work with children, tweens, and adolescents, tailoring the approach to whatever stage your child is in.

Will I be involved in my child's sessions?

Yes. We view caregivers as an important part of the process and work with you together and separately, so you feel heard and equipped, while still giving your child the age-appropriate privacy they need to open up.

What does a session actually look like?

It depends on your child's age. Sessions may include talking, play, creative activities, or skills-based work, whatever fits how they naturally express themselves.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most insurance, aside from Medicare and Tricare, and we always accept Medicaid. Clinicians who are newer to the team carry Medicaid caseloads, while our fully licensed clinicians take on other insurance types, so there's a good mix across the practice.

Are your clinicians licensed?

Yes, every clinician currently on our team is fully licensed.
