Individual Therapy.

A space of your own to slow down, untangle what's going on, and figure out what might help.

What is it

What is individual therapy?

Individual therapy is time set aside just for you: a space to slow down, make sense of what's happening in your life, and figure out what might actually help. The relationship with your clinician is part of what makes it work, but it isn't the only part. Sessions bend around your history, your identity, and whatever brought you through the door, not a script.

Depending on what you need, that might look like talking through what's weighing on you, learning new tools for handling emotions and stress, processing hard memories, practicing new ways of responding, or simply having a place to be honest about what's going on. We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We build the process with you.

What we help with

What brings people in

Tap any of these to learn a little more about what it can look like.

Depression

Persistent low mood, loss of interest, or trouble finding motivation for things that used to feel manageable.

Anxiety

Racing thoughts, constant worry, or a body that stays on alert even when nothing's actively wrong.

ADHD & Executive Dysfunction

Trouble with focus and follow-through, or the feeling that your brain and your to-do list are never quite in sync.

Trauma

Past experiences that still show up in the present, in ways big or small.

Bipolar Disorder

Mood shifts that swing wider than typical ups and downs, with support for managing them long-term.

DID

Feeling disconnected from yourself, your memory, or your surroundings, in ways that are hard to put into words.

Chronic/Persistent Mental Illness (Schizophrenia, Psychosis, Etc.)

Ongoing support for psychosis and the day-to-day realities of living with a chronic thought disorder.

We take Medicaid, always.

Most insurance is welcome here, aside from Medicare and Tricare. New clinicians carry Medicaid caseloads; our fully licensed team takes the rest. Two pro-bono intern slots are open too.
Why it helps

What individual therapy can do

Therapy doesn't fix everything overnight, but it tends to change how things feel to carry.

1

A space that's actually yours

No agenda but your own. Sessions follow what you need, not a checklist.

2

Tools you can use outside the room

Practical ways to handle stress, big emotions, and hard moments as they come up.

3

A clearer view of your own patterns

Understanding what keeps you stuck is often the first step toward doing something different.

4

Support for the whole story

Not just the symptom that brought you in, but the history, identity, and life behind it.

Common questions

Before you start

Who do you work with in individual therapy?

People of all ages and life stages who want to feel or do things differently. That includes a lot of queer and trans folks navigating love, work, and a hostile world, young adults launching into adulthood or just trying to get through high school, and people working through real trauma rather than everyday stress.

What kinds of things come up in sessions?

Common themes include low motivation, trouble getting things done, depression, anxiety, panic, family rejection, transphobia, attachment triggers, and trauma reminders. Whatever's actually going on for you sets the agenda.

What does a session actually look like?

It depends a bit on your counselor. Some start with a grounding ritual like tea and a mandala, others start with a kid negotiating exactly how they want to spend the hour. Generally though, sessions follow a loose rule of 15s: the first stretch for warming up and catching up, the middle for the real work, talking, writing, processing whatever's hard, and the last part for cooling down with reassurance and planning ahead. Kind of like a workout for your brain.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most insurance, aside from Medicare and Tricare, and we always accept Medicaid. Clinicians who are newer to the team carry Medicaid caseloads, while our fully licensed clinicians take on other insurance types, so there's a good mix across the practice.

What ages do you work with?

We work with clients age 4 and up, including kids, teens, adults, and families.

Are your clinicians licensed?

Yes, every clinician currently on our team is fully licensed.
