Family Therapy.

A space for every kind of family, blood, kin, chosen, or otherwise, to understand each other and find your way back to working as a team.

What is it

What is family therapy?

Sometimes the problem isn't just happening inside one person, it's happening in the relationships between people. If you're searching for family therapy near me, you might be looking for a place where every family member, blood, kin, chosen, adopted, or otherwise, can better understand one another and work together on what's not working. Sessions may focus on communication, conflict, parenting, boundaries, life changes, or hurts that have built up over time.

You don't have to know exactly what needs to change before you come in. That's something we figure out together. The goal isn't to decide who's right or blame one person for the family's problems. It's to help everyone understand what's happening, how each person unintentionally supports that pattern, and find healthier ways to move forward together.

What we help with

What brings families in

Tap any of these to learn a little more about what it can look like.

Fighting & conflict

Ongoing arguments, tension, or conflict that feels like it never quite resolves.

Silent treatment & distance

Avoiding each other, going quiet, or feeling like family members live separate lives under one roof.

Feeling unheard

Misunderstandings, feeling insignificant, or like your side of things never really lands.

Power, control & alliances

Sides forming within the family, or struggles over who's in charge and how decisions get made.

Chore wars & everyday friction

The small, recurring disagreements over responsibilities that add up over time.

Dishonesty & broken trust

Working through moments where trust between family members has taken a hit.

Teenage stuff

The drama and drift that can come with having a teenager in the house.

We take Medicaid, always.

Most insurance is welcome here, aside from Medicare and Tricare. New clinicians carry Medicaid caseloads; our fully licensed team takes the rest. Two pro-bono intern slots are open too.
Why it helps

What family therapy can do

The goal isn't to find out who's right. It's to understand each other and move forward together.

1

Everyone gets a turn to be heard

Your counselor helps slow conversations down so no one gets talked over.

2

Patterns you might not notice

An outside perspective on the roles and dynamics that keep repeating.

3

New ways of talking and responding

Practical practice at communicating differently, together and in smaller groupings.

4

A process that fits your family

You don't have to know what needs to change before you start. We figure it out together.

Common questions

Before you start

What kinds of families do you work with?

All kinds. Blood, kin, chosen, adopted, biological, anything goes. If you consider yourselves a family, so do we.

Does everyone need to attend every session?

Not always. Sometimes the whole family meets together, and sometimes your therapist may meet with smaller groups within the family, depending on what's most useful.

What if we don't know exactly what's wrong?

That's completely fine. You don't have to know exactly what needs to change before you come in. That's something we figure out together.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most insurance, aside from Medicare and Tricare, and we always accept Medicaid. Clinicians who are newer to the team carry Medicaid caseloads, while our fully licensed clinicians take on other insurance types, so there's a good mix across the practice.

Are your clinicians licensed?

Yes, every clinician currently on our team is fully licensed.
