LGBTQIA+ Therapy.

Affirming support for queer and trans folks navigating life, love, work, and a world that isn't always kind.

What is it

What is LGBTQIA+ therapy?

If you're looking for an LGBTQ therapist near me, we want you to know: this is a place built with queer and trans folks in mind, not one that's simply willing to see you. A lot of our work is with people navigating life, love, and work while living in a political environment that isn't always kind, along with young adults launching into adulthood or just trying to get through high school.

Sessions are affirming without assuming. Your counselor won't guess at your identity or your experience; they'll ask, listen, and build the work around what's actually true for you. Whatever brought you in, whether it's family rejection, transphobia, identity exploration, or something else entirely, you don't have to explain or justify who you are to be understood here.

What we help with

What brings people in

Tap any of these to learn a little more about what it can look like.

Family rejection

Navigating relationships with family members who don't accept or understand your identity.

Transphobia & discrimination

The weight of living in a world, and sometimes a political environment, that isn't always kind.

Identity exploration

Figuring out who you are, at your own pace, without pressure to have it all figured out.

Coming out

Deciding if, when, and how to come out, and processing what happens after.

Anxiety & depression

Low motivation, panic, or depression, often tangled up with the stress of navigating identity.

Dating & relationships

Navigating love and connection as a queer or trans person, on your own terms.

Launching into adulthood

Young adults figuring out work, independence, and identity all at once.

We take Medicaid, always.

Most insurance is welcome here, aside from Medicare and Tricare. New clinicians carry Medicaid caseloads; our fully licensed team takes the rest. Two pro-bono intern slots are open too.

Common questions

Before you start

Do your clinicians have LGBTQIA+ specific training?

Yes, our clinicians take an affirming approach that doesn't assume anything about your identity or experience, and they're glad to talk through their background if that's helpful for you.

Do I need to have my identity figured out before starting?

Not at all. Exploration is welcome here, and you're never expected to arrive with everything sorted out.

Do you work with teens who are exploring their identity?

Yes, we work with clients age 4 and up, including teens navigating identity, coming out, or family relationships.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most insurance, aside from Medicare and Tricare, and we always accept Medicaid. Clinicians who are newer to the team carry Medicaid caseloads, while our fully licensed clinicians take on other insurance types, so there's a good mix across the practice.

Are your clinicians licensed?

Yes, every clinician currently on our team is fully licensed.
