What brings people to EMDR

You don't need a crisis to start. Tap any of these to learn a little more.

Do I need EMDR?

Check anything that feels true lately. There's no score, just a starting point.

Something that happened a while ago still feels like it's happening now
Certain reminders send me into a much bigger reaction than the moment calls for
I get flashbacks or intrusive memories I can't seem to shake
My anxiety seems to trace back to something specific that happened
A loss I've experienced still feels unresolved
I've talked about it before, but it still hasn't fully let go of me
There's a specific event that left a lasting mark on me
I've been meaning to talk to someone for a while now
Benefits of EMDR therapy
Why it helps

What EMDR can do

The memory stays. What changes is how much power it has over you now. Tap to read more.

Less charge around hard memories

The same memory, but without the same intensity attached to it.

A structured, paced process

Built-in safety and stabilization work before any reprocessing begins.

Fewer triggers in daily life

Reminders that used to derail your day start to lose their grip.

Doesn't require retelling the whole story

You don't have to narrate every detail out loud for the process to work.

Dr. Wall & Associates team
Who you'll be working with

About Dr. Wall & Associates.

Dr. Wall founded this practice on a simple idea: that good therapy meets people exactly where they are, without an agenda for who they should become. That idea has grown into a team of eight fully licensed clinicians who take on the cases other places tend to pass on, dissociation, chronic mental illness, family systems untangling generations of patterns.

Sessions here feel less like a clinical appointment and more like sitting down with someone who already gets it. Every clinician carries deep trauma training, most are certified in EMDR, and the team works with people across the full range of ages, identities, and life experience.

Common questions

Before you start

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most insurance, including Medicaid, aside from Medicare and Tricare.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, virtual and in-person sessions are both available, whichever fits your life better.

Do I have to talk in detail about what happened?

No. EMDR doesn't require a detailed retelling of the event for the processing to work.

How soon can I be seen?

We'll reach out within 1–2 business days of your request to get you matched with a clinician.

Are your clinicians licensed?

Yes, every clinician currently on our team is fully licensed.

How many sessions does it take?

It varies by person and by what you're working through. Your counselor will walk you through the pacing as you go.

What if EMDR doesn't work for me?

Not every approach fits every person, and that's okay. If something isn't clicking, we adjust the approach or the pace rather than assuming it isn't for you.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. What you share in session stays between you and your clinician, with the same legal and ethical protections as any licensed provider, aside from a few narrow exceptions your clinician will walk you through upfront.

What if I've never done EMDR before?

Most of our clients haven't either. Your first session is really just a conversation, getting to know each other and figuring out what you're hoping to get out of this.

What if I don't click with my therapist?

Fit matters, and it's fine to say so. If your first clinician isn't the right match, we'll help you find someone who is.

Counseling is for everyone.
